While it is surrounded by developed areas, Noosa National Park is a wildlife sanctuary that protects beautiful sections of eucalypt forest, woodland, melaleuca wetland, colourful wallum heathland and dense vine-strewn rainforest.
The park is home to many species of native fauna and flora, including vulnerable and endangered animals such as the glossy black-cockatoo, ground parrot, koala, red goshawk, wallum froglet, and plants such as the swamp orchid and Christmas bells.
